The focus of the Plan is land use and physical development. The Plan is based on the soil capabilities and land ownership pattern, and the timberland and wildlife resources. It represents a statement which puts forth major ideas concerning the desirable future development of Skamania County. The pace of development has in recent years increased in Skamania County. Residential subdivisions, Mobile Home Parks, public parks and other public facilities have been planned and constructed. A major federal project, the new Bonneville Power House, is now under construction. The adjacent town of North Bonneville will be relocated as part of this project. Year: 2002 Several geothermal occurrences in the state of Idaho were examined for their potential for electrical generation and direct use. Five sites were studied in detail with respect to their current conditions and developments, and the potential for future power generation projects: Crane Creek Hot Springs, Raft River, Big Creek Hot Springs, Vulcan Hot Springs KGRA, and the Magic Reservoir Hot Spring area. From this evaluation, Crane Creek Hot Springs was determined to be the best prospect for future development, in light of the current state of private-sector development at the Raft River site. The Vulcan KGRA and Big Creek Hot Springs are considered to be low priority candidates for electrical generation because of their remote locations and other conditions. Year: 1953, 2005 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS Klamath Project is a $13 million Federal investment in water resource development, About 200,000 acres are irrigated and gross crop production (has exceeded $17 million each year over the past 7 years. The Project encompasses the largest single block of irrigated land in the area and includes nearly half the three-county total irrigated area and one quarter of the cropland. Agriculture and manufacturing directly contribute half the three-county personal income and provide half the jobs. Klamath Project accounts for five-sixths of the gross income from crops, and half the total agricultural production in the three-county area. Personal income from project crops is estimated at $10.6 mil1ion in 1948. Recent crop production on the project supports directly or indirectly about $25 million in local personal income. Federal contribution for irrigation to repay costs without interest to date amounts to about $10.8 million. Annual personal income generated by project in the postwar years equals this assistance Project gross crop production of nearly $300 million over 46 years. Project farm income supports substantial portion of area retail trade and contributes to transportation and other services. Project agriculture in past 10 years increased its support to the economy and has helped offset the declines in the lumber industry. The survey consisted of 671 gravity stations covering an area of about 1300 km{sup 2}, and included two orthogonal gravity profiles traversing the area. The gravity data are presented as a terrain-corrected Bouguer gravity anomaly map with a contour interval of 1 mgal and as an isometric three-dimensional gravity anomaly surface.
