Available Collections in the Oregon Explorer

The Oregon Explorer provides a searchable portal for a number of digital collections created by a number of institutions.

While new collections are added all the time, the Oregon Explorer Project currently indexes and searches the following collections:


Collection Image
The Natural Resources Information Management Program is a part of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), and is a participant within the regional StreamNet Project, a cooperative venture of federal and state agencies and tribes in the Pacific Northwest. The Program provides information and services essential for accomplishing ODFW's mission - to protect and enhance Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats for enjoyment by present and future generations.

ScholarsArchive@OSU is Oregon State University Library & Press’ digital service for gathering, indexing, making available and storing the scholarly work of the Oregon State University community. It also includes materials from outside the institution in support of the university's land, sun, sea and space grant missions and other research interests.

University of Oregon Scholars' Bank is the open access repository for the intellectual work of faculty, students and staff at the University of Oregon. Open access journals, student projects, theses, dissertations, pre and post-print articles, instructional resources and university archival material are all candidates for deposit.

The Klamath Waters Digital Library is dedicated to providing comprehensive access to information on water issues of the Klamath Watershed. The digital library encompasses a collection of full-text documents, reports, articles, photographs and maps from the 1800's to the present as well as many special collections.

The Southern Oregon Digital Archives consists of the three text-rich collections of (SODA) -- Bioregion, First Nations, and Southern Oregon History Collections -- and numerous image collections about the history, culture, people, and places of southern Oregon. Hannon Library partners include Southern Oregon Historical Society (SOHS), Jackson County Library Services, and the Josephine County Library System.

PDXScholar, a service of Portland State University Library, provides access to a diverse collection of academic, scholarly, scientific and creative content produced by faculty, students and staff. PDXScholar increases the visibility of authors' works, maximizes research impact, facilitates interdisciplinary research, and provides regional and global communities with immediate and permanent access.

State Library of Oregon Digital Collections include: Permanent access to current and historical publications of Oregon state government Representative maps from the State Library’s digital collection Publications of other Oregon entities, including city, county, and tribal governments Federal publications that focus on Oregon and the Pacific Northwest Digital Collections do not include digital copies of all publications in the State Library’s collection.


Oregon Digital
The OSULP and UO Libraries' digital collections are presented at Oregon Digital and are created to support the teaching and research mission of both institutions. The collections are composed of unique digitized and born digital materials including photographs, journal articles, sheet music, manuscripts, ephemera, and more. The collections are managed by the UO Digital Scholarship Center and OSU Libraries & Press.

Archive-It is the leading web archiving service for collecting and accessing cultural heritage on the web. The Oregon Explorer team selects and curates relevant websites and archives for the digital library.


Collection Image
As part of Oregon Explorer, the Oregon Spatial Data Library provides public access to reliable and up-to-date spatial data. It is joint effort between the Department of Administrative Services Geospatial Enterprise Office, the Institute for Natural Resources and Oregon State University. Hundreds of spatial datasets are accessible from the Oregon Spatial Data Library, including all of the statewide framework data available for Oregon. These datasets serve as base data for a variety of Geographic Information System (GIS) applications that support research, business and public services.
