Cold joint due to E-Con Placer breakdown is the light colored portion midway up door blockout. Contractor is placed ± 5" lift of grout over cold joint, then continued with regular 1½" aggregate concrete. The joint came out better than had been expected; August 24, 1977; USBR photo by D.J.
