If managers cannot comprehend their career growth needs they may end up losing those personnel. Organizations need to come up with career paths to retain and motivate workers. They need to make a balance between organizational needs and individuals’ needs, and develop career paths accordingly [1]. However these benefits come at a cost of maintaining the applications and running the data warehouse efficiently on a twenty four by seven basis. Governance is all about bringing discipline and control in place so that application developers and IT integration engineers follow certain guidelines so that the behavior of a data warehouse application becomes predictable and manageable. In this paper we have defined and explained some of the governance best practices being followed in large enterprise data warehouse of an organization. With a data warehouse governance process in place it can help in maintaining a stable data warehouse. The breakthroughs and manufacturing cost reductions made in sensors and MicroElectro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), as well as the advancements in integrated hardware and software systems technologies have given rise to the area of mobile health (mHealth) monitoring. mHealth monitoring systems give more control into the hands of the person to be in charge of their own health and maintain their sense of independence, especially as the population ages. The technology can also enable researchers to study pertinent diseases using continuous kinematic data. Fitbit is a respected firm that has been bringing innovative health and fitness tracking systems to the market since 2007. Their focus has been primarily on fitness bands until 2014 when they are introduced the smart fitness watch, Fitbit Surge. In this paper, we have studied the competitive landscape for the smartwatch which is the next logical extension that Fitbit is trying to establish in terms of product offerings. Similar to Amazon’s success in the revolutionizing the retailing industry with Ecommerce, 3D printing technology is showing the promise of turning healthcare on its heel with its capacity of rapid prototyping and personalizing the solution to the patient. This gives us an opportunity to study this innovation using technology management principles and tools. We explored the technology using engineering, technology forecast and motivating factors (Stengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT)) models. We also conducted a market analysis to assess the expected economic return. The study highlighted the engineering challenge in developing the right biological materials and the appropriate 3D printing manufacturing processes. A time-based trend analysis of Bibliometrics in this technology segment drew us to the conclusion that this technology is straddling the innovator and the early adopter phases of the Technology Adoption Life Cycle (TALC). On the policy side, the motivating factors study highlighted the legal, ethical and regulatory challenges. But, the motivating factors review also highlighted the expansive benefits, both profit-based and humanitarian, of this technology. The research put together, showed that this disruptive technology will be a game-changer in the future of healthcare. The organization must be efficiently schedule the staff to meet the continuous and potentially changing business demands. Staff scheduling becomes challenging when the need to balance various personnel shifts and try to accommodate their preferences. In our report, we have attempted to address the lifeguard scheduling problem at Shute Park Aquatic and Recreation Center (SHARC). The aquatic center offers a variety of classes all year around for all age groups. The lifeguards and swim instructors are part-time employees and mostly students, over 16 years of age. The primary metrics used to schedule lifeguard staff are availability of personnel, avoid double booking when already working in other areas of SHARC, gender diversity, performance, and assessment by supervisor based on previous history. There are situations of last minute cancellations and thus a substitute has to be scheduled for those emergency situations. Currently the SHARC manager uses Microsoft Word for scheduling lifeguards. This paper attempts to propose a scheduling tool based on excel to cope with the emergency substitute scheduling of the lifeguards and document the process rather than relying on a person’s memory. Through this paper we attempt the following: 1) To address the issue of last minute scheduling and find a reliable person to cover. 2) To develop a model that be used for automation of life guard scheduling process. 3) To provide an Excel based program replacing the current word based for automated scheduling at no extra cost. 4) To achieve scheduling of personnel at least cost.
