The uniqueness of this tool enables firms to identify, and develop technology alternatives that are required to meet a set of product or service needs. In this framework we utilized this powerful tool to measure the pace of the next hybrid PC generations. The main catalyst behind this study is attempting to answer the question of why PC sales have shrunk recently. We started conducting our research by applying the macroeconomics forces at the macro scale to have a clear vision of the exerted forces on PC industry—namely the impact of tablets, Ultrabook, laptops, and smartphones on PCs. Accordingly, we conducted an intensive literature review followed by a survey to understand the trends of PC industry as well as the end users’ needs. Based on the knowledge extracted from the literature and the survey, we constructed the Technology Roadmap of the next hybrid PC generations. The developed roadmap— consisted of drivers, products, technology, and resources—empowered us to evaluate the current state of PC industry and revealed technological gaps implicitly. We believe the technological gaps discovered by this framework, will help any hypothetical manufacturer pioneer in the PC industry to cope up with the dynamic of PC market for the next five years. However we find ourselves asking – what is the cloud? What can it do for us, and why would we consider it for our various technology needs? In the past, businesses have integrated cloud computing partially to meet their technology needs, due to skepticism, reliability, and cost of the concept [1]. However, we are now reaching the era where this could be a feasible solution that meets our technology needs and assists businesses in meeting their goals in a reliable and efficient way but can we convince businesses that we are there yet? [2]. In a nutshell, cloud computing has grown over the last ten years and is still growing, but making waves in the Industry now more than ever, Why all this hype? Perhaps because cloud computing is seen as a viable replacement of enterprise owned local IT infrastructure [3]. In the course of our research, we researched key cloud providers, services, and selected the best provider “Google Apps” that met Chesterfield technologies businesses IT needs. The objective of our study is to determine the best cost effective IT Infrastructure for small businesses, specifically Chesterfield Technologies. A conventional B-C Ratio with AW is used to analyze both the traditional IT Infrastructure and the Cloud option. We will conclude with the results of the most cost effective option, Current trends, and recommendations. This analysis could serve as a tool for businesses in determining if cloud computing is the right step in meeting their technology and business needs. In the last few years the proportion of electricity generated by non hydropower based renewable sources has remained constant while generation from fossil fuels has increased. In this project, the team provides a background of the sources of renewable electricity in the United States. We discuss thin film solar photovoltaics in detail with analyses of the strengths and weakness of this material. Collected data regarding historical manufacturing costs and current prices of electricity are used to put together a scenario analyses which could predict the viability of thin film solar panels. These factors include: Human/Government factors Manufacturing trends Consideration of cost of ownership Conversion factors to compare solar power to standard electrical power. Environmental impact factors In researching this topic, the team was unable to find an adequate forecasting model. The team adds to the existing body of knowledge by providing a couple of scenario analyses which can be used to predict the adoption of thin film solar panels.
