Substantial migration occurred during this time with about 404,000 people moving to Oregon and about 281,000 people leaving Oregon. Approximately one half of the people moving to Oregon came from California and Washington and about 60% of the people leaving Oregon moved to these two states. Differentials were found in the characteristics of in- and out-migrants. In particular, in-migrants were more likely to be below poverty, 65 years of age and older, and have difficulty speaking English than out-migrants. A greater proportion of out-migrants had a bachelor's degree and income levels were higher for out-migrants than in-migrants. The implications of these findings are discussed. The purpose of this review was to summarize the existing research addressing this issue. We identified 23 studies that employed validated assessments of attachment, which were not based on self-report questionnaires, and separated the summary into findings for toddlers/preschool, children, and adolescents. Although most associations were weak and only a minority of the multiple possible associations tested was supported in each study, all studies (but one) reported at least one significant association between attachment and emotion regulation or coping. The evidence pointed to the regulatory and coping problems of toddlers showing signs of ambivalent attachment or the benefits of secure (relative to insecure) attachment for toddlers, children, and adolescents. Toddlers who showed signs of avoidant attachment relied more on self-related regulation (or less social-oriented regulation and coping), but it was not clear whether these responses were maladaptive. There was little information available regarding associations of ambivalent attachment with school-age children’s or adolescents’ emotion regulation. Many technologies exist or are in development but the rate at which they are being adopted is slow. Despite a clear need to apply research results to the utility industry, a cursory review of how research proposals are evaluated within the utility industry confirms that technology transfer is only peripherally addressed. In addition, there is no mechanism to quantitatively assess the technology transfer potential of a research proposal. The goal of this paper is to develop an assessment model that can be used to identify the technology transfer potential of a research proposal. In most cases, final research reports are made available in printed form and online; however, for some applications, converting a report to a more interactive online report (tool) can produce results that are easier for the user to access. This is particularly true in this age of information overload and as practitioners find themselves needing to "do more with less." This paper describes how research results from an update to the Oregon Department of Transportation database of crash reduction factors were incorporated into an online tool. The paper describes the methodology for cataloging a total of 94 crash countermeasures, reviewing the literature, and developing the interactive online tool. The tool allows users to search on the basis of key parameters for the countermeasures most appropriate to a particular highway safety improvement project and to access directly pertinent citations from the literature review database. A case study describes how a traffic safety professional might use this online tool in practice. Flow velocity, thermal structure, hydrodynamic characteristics including water age, the turbulent eddy viscosity, the buoyancy frequency, the mixing depth, and the ratio of the euphotic depth and the mixed layer depth were evaluated for these scenarios. It is showed that the effective water circulation patterns in the XXB occurred when there was a converging of the inflow from the upstream with an intrusive overflow, lower-interflow, underflow or the combination from the TGR mainstream. Larger daily WL fluctuation and a longer duration of WL rise would enhance algal bloom prevention in the XXB. These results can provide assistance in managing the operation of water levels in TGR. © 2016 Elsevier B.V.
