Fred Yates, Helen Holgate (accompanist), H.L. Holgate, and John Fulton. B.W. Johnson was a local orchardist. H.L. Holgate was a lawyer who worked as the district counsel for the Department of the Interior. Helen Holgate graduated from OAC in 1895 with a BS in domestic science and arts; she later worked in the college's Clerical Exchange. J. Fred Yates served a term as mayor of Corvallis and was also a City Attorney, Municipal Judge and member of the OSC Board of Regents. It was exhibited at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and La Biennale de Venezia in 2001, and at the Bienal de São Paulo in 2002. Chien-Chi Chang, a New York-based photographer born in Taiwan, is a member of Magnum Photos. His previous book is I do I do I do. Cheryl Lai, a journalist from Taipei, Taiwan, is a Weatherhead Fellow at Harvard University. The photo essay culminates in several photographs of a project in which Fekner collaborated with a graffiti artist to paint a mural inviting people into a bomb shelter in a building that had been bricked up completely. Two short essays at the beginning and end of the book are included.
