  Citation × Citation Citation Abstract Copy Title: Biological and Conference Opinion : Bureau of Land Management Activities Affecting Oregon Coast Coho Salmon and Oregon Coast Steelhead The Coos Bay, Medford, and Roseburg Bureau of Land Management (BLM) District Offices submitted May 25 and June 20, 2000, letters requesting formal consultation for a number of proposed activities that were determined likely to adversely affect Oregon Coast (OC) coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) and OC steelhead (O. mykiss). Biological assessments (BA) addressing potential affects to these species accompanied the May 25 and June 20, 2000, letters. The BAs describe the environmental baseline and effects of actions in the Umpqua River basin which may have short-term adverse effects on OC coho salmon and OC steelhead and their habitat, but which are expected to provide long-term beneficial effects.   Citation × Citation Citation Abstract Copy Title: Limiting factors assessment and restoration plan Rock Creek : tributary to Devil's Lake, Lincoln County, Oregon Author: Bio-Surveys, LLC, Sialis Company This document provides watershed restoration actions proposed to enhance the Coho Salmon population within the Rock Creek / Devils Lake basin in Lincoln County, Oregon. The stream is the principle tributary of Devil’s Lake, a lake of natural origin that opens into the Pacific Ocean at the northern edge of Lincoln City, OR. The goal of the restoration effort has been to identify the dominant processes and habitat characteristics that currently limit the production of Coho salmon smolts in the basin, and to develop a prioritized list of actions (“prescriptions”) for removing the limitations in ways that normalize landscape and stream channel function. Restoration and assessment protocols used in developing the plan are described in “Midcoast Limiting Factors Analysis, A Method for Assessing 6th field subbasins for Restoration”, available at www.midcoastwatershedcouncil.org/GIS or by contacting the Midcoast Watersheds Council. Our approach builds upon the GIS data layers provided by Portland State as part of their assessment of the watershed. Additional data layers were obtained from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Coastal Landscape Analysis Modeling Study (CLAMS).
