A portion of the upstream side of Gerber Dam is shown on the left. Fourteen inches of ice had to be cut through to gain access to the water. The purpose of this winter dive was to examine the interior and exterior of the trashrack structure located some 35 to 51 inches below the ice, at a time when water visibility was the best. As it was, visibility was limited to less than six inches. Note ropes on divers.
