Fences run along the railroad tracks and stop on either side of a railroad crossing. The crossing is left of center and has a white sign beside it. There are three tipis among the trees. On the right side of the photo is a wooden building. In between the right most tipi and the wooden building is a cage raised up off the ground on legs and another undetermined object on the ground. On the right half of the photo between the tipis and the railroad tracks is a cultivated area that could be a garden. Behind the tipis among the trees is a stream or river, and in the background are hills. The trees are both deciduous without leaves and conifers.
